The Janata Dal Secular-Congress government in Karnataka has pulled back from the brink of a crisis triggered by two exits on Tuesday, alongside reports of "missing" Congress members. 100-odd BJP lawmakers camping at a Gurgaon resort heightened the suspense, but they will all be back by tomorrow, said their leader BS Yeddyurappa on Thursday.

He may not have expected to finish fourth in the Karnataka polls but today BS Yeddyurappa put up a brave face. "We have got 10% of the vote. It not an easy thing. KJP will be a constructive opposition party in and outside the Assembly, " he said ruling out his return to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

BS Yeddyurappa, who arrived in Delhi to be re-named chief minister of Karnataka, will return to Bangalore without getting back the job he lost in July. His party, the BJP, has signalled that for now, it cannot withdraw Sadananda Gowda, who was picked by Mr Yeddyurappa as his successor when he was forced to resign on account of corruption charges.
