Two pro-CPM activists have been arrested for their alleged role in the murder of a Youth Congress leader on February 12. NDTV has learnt from police sources that one of the two arrested was also an accused in the murder case of Vineesh, an RSS activist, in September 2016. Chief Minister of Kerala said on social media, an "impartial probe" is on.

A 30-year-old Youth Congress leader was murdered last night in Kerala's Kannur district. Police said a group of men allegedly first threw a country-made bomb, and then attacked the man with sharp weapons. Two other Youth Congress workers have been injured in the attack.

Early this morning, Sunil Kumar, a leader of the Youth Congress, was hacked to death in Alappuzha, 160 kms from the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram. Mr Kumar was attacked with knives outside his home, said the police, which has detained four supporters of the CPM.
