An SUV carrying around four people fell into the Zuari river from a bridge in South Goa district in the early hours of morning today, police said.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today said he will write to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for visa to a Chinese consultant working on a bridge project in Goa.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday said the proposed viewing gallery on the upcoming bridge on Zuari river in Goa will be a better tourist attraction than the renowned Eiffel Tower in Paris in France.

Four persons were injured after a scaffolding erected for the construction of a major bridge in Goa across the Zuari river collapsed on Wednesday, an official said.

Engineering firm Dilip Buildcon on Wednesday said it has bagged a contract worth Rs 545.4 crore from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to construct a 640-km eight-lane cable-stayed bridge across the Zuari River in Goa.
