15 Dead, Several Displaced As Meghalaya Floods Wreak Havoc

At least 15 people lost their lives in the devastating floods and landslides that occurred in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills districts. The floodwaters have washed away three bridges and damaged portions of roads in Dalu, including a concrete bridge along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Many homes have been damaged, forcing residents to seek shelter in relief camps. The CM's Office of Meghalaya has announced that efforts to clear and repair the damaged Dalu to Sibbari road are underway on a priority basis.
