20% Type-2 Diabetes Cases Linked To Air Pollution: Lancet Study

While the link between air pollution and human fatalities has been clearly established, a new piece in Lancet outlines how 20 per cent of global type-2 diabetes is linked to chronic exposure to PM 2.5 particulate matter. The data has huge implications for people in the subcontinent. Indians are believed to be genetically vulnerable to the onset of diabetes and PM 2.5 exposure, as a result of extremely high levels of air pollution, which is making the situation worse. NDTV's Parmeshwar Bawa explains.
