Rain fury continues in several states across the country with the weather department having forecast heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and the flood situation is expected to further worsen in the country. Central Water Commission's latest Daily Flood Situation Report warns that total number of rivers where water is flowing above warning level rose to 22 on July 13 from 15 on July 11. As rains continue to hit different parts of Karnataka, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said 32 people have lost their lives so far, and Rs 500 crore will be released immediately to restore the basic infrastructure that got damaged. Rivers in the region have swelled, several dams have reached the brim and there is severe waterlogging in agriculture fields and low-lying areas causing damage to crops and properties.
