Imphal valley is the centre-stage of Manipur politics. Six months ago when the Assembly here was set on fire on the issue of territorial integrity, it was inconceivable that elections could be held in the state. Elections in Manipur are uniquely different from the rest of the country - no life-size cutouts, no loud speakers, only a few banners and posters. It is a personality-driven electoral process where parties or party symbols have little influence over voters. We spend 24 hours with Radhabinod Koijam of the Samata Party, covering his election rallies.
