Twenty-five years ago, Major Padmapani Acharya of 2 Rajputana Rifles was killed in action during the Kargil War. His mother, Vimala Acharya refused to shed tears then and is proud of her son for making the supreme sacrifice for the country in the crucial Battle of Kargil@25: Remembering Major Padmapani Acharya, The Hero Of Battle Of Tololing. He was awarded the second highest Indian military honour, Maha Vir Chakra posthumously for his actions during the Kargil War. It is that same sense of courage and patriotism that his young pregnant widow carried and passed on to their daughter, born three months after he died. Watch this special report.
