25 years on, still no right to vote
Twenty five years ago, Ateeja Praveen came to India from Pakistan on a visitor visa and got married to Mohd Taj, a resident of Poonch. Since then she has been fighting to get Indian nationality. She says she is Indian from her heart but Indian government is still not convinced. She has seen many elections but can't vote. "Surely I like some candidates. Many times I went and campaigned for them door-to-door but still I have never been able to cast my vote," she said.
