An Embraer EMBR3.SA passenger plane flying from Azerbaijan to Russia crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on Dec 25. Reuters reported that 62 passengers and five crew were on board, Kazakh authorities announced only 28 survived. Russian news agencies said the plane was operated by Azerbaijan Airlines and had been flying from Baku to Grozny in Russia's Chechnya. Drone footage showed numerous emergency services vehicles operating on-site and apparent remains of bodies of the victims. Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said on Wednesday that the cause of the plane crash in Kazakhstan cannot be established yet, and the incident is far from a conclusion.
