2G spectrum beyond 6.2 MHz more valuable than 3G: TRAI
Consultants appointed by the telecom regulator TRAI have said that 2G spectrum in most circles should be valued higher than 3G spectrum. If telecom regulator TRAI goes by these recommendations, each additional megahertz of spectrum across the country in the 18000 megahertz band could cost almost Rs 8380 crore. This is the first time ever that the government is valuing the spectrum that could be given to telecom companies.
