In one of the deadliest attacks in years, nearly 300 Maoists ambushed a paramilitary patrol killing 25 men of the Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF and injuring at least six on Monday afternoon in Chhattisgarh's Sukma area in Bastar region. The massacre, which according to the senior official was well-planned, was carried out at the time when the 99-member CRPF team was doing a sanitisation exercise for an under-construction road in the area. Home Minister Rajnath, who termed the attack as "challenge", will pay tributes to martyrs in Raipur today.
