The bail plea of a journalist from Kerala who was arrested and locked up while on his way to cover a rape case in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras came up in the Supreme Court, but the hearings will continue for the moment. Siddique Kappan has been behind bars for 42 days. Yet, Republic TV's Arnab Goswami got a hearing and bail in double quick time in a case where the Supreme Court championed the cause of freedom.
