The Hajareshwar Mahadev Temple in Gwalior has a Shivling that is believed by the temple's authorities and devotees to be 500 years old. The Shivling popularly known as 'Mote Mahadev' has unique characteristics, according to the temple's priest. The Shivling features 55 faces of Lord Shiva carved into it. Devotees visiting the temple say they have never seen a Shivling as beautiful as this one. Mondays are especially significant for the worship of Lord Shiva, particularly during the holy month of Sawan. The Hajareshwar Temple is also witnessing a steady stream of devotees on the second Monday of the ongoing Sawan month.
