82% Decline In Active Covid Cases Since Peak On May 10, Says Government
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan today addressed a press conference on the Covid situation in the country. Speaking about the mega vaccination drive, which began June 21 with revised policies, Mr Bhushan said that India's cumulative vaccination coverage has exceeded 28 crore doses. "There are now 6.62 lakh active cases in India. There has been a 82% drop in the number of active cases," Mr Bhushan said. "The recovery rate has increased from 81% to 96.5%. The recovery rate in several states is more than the national average," he added.
