Banega Swachh India has become a movement in the true sense of the term, says Anand Mahindra, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Mahindra Group. "We committed to spending Rs. 30 crore and 80,000 person hours to the cause of making India clean. We are left with Rs. 6 crore, and 12,000 person hours still. We hope to continue to spend on the cause because a lot more still needs to be done. We also hope to set an example and encourage other corporates to commit to the cause." On how to encourage people to use toilets, he said there's no one right way to go about it. Whether to shame people into using toilets, or talk about the need to do it behind closed doors from the perspective of safety, or educate them on the hygienic need to do it, there are different things that will motivate different people.
