A Mother's Fight Against The Chief Minister's Son
Everyone knows the complications of the criminal justice system and just how hard it can be for a common citizen, but imagine what it's like when the person you are fighting against is no one less than the Chief Minister of the state you live in. For Chitra Devi, the fight isn't just difficult, it's also personal. In 2011, her 19-year-old son Irom Rojer was shot dead by Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh's son Ajay in a 'fit of rage'. Ajay was given a five year jail term for death due to negligence despite the CBI chargesheeting him for murder. Now Chitra Devi has camped in Delhi, demanding an enhanced sentence.
