In 2010, the 24-year-old Vikas Nalawade had his hopes shattered. He returned home to his village Mahalunge in Poladpur block of Raigad devastated and did some odd work for meagre incomes until in 2015 when Swades foundation helped him transform his life. Empowering men and women like Vikas to rebuild their lives, the Swades foundation is engaging households in poultry, goat rearing, dairy or fishery augmenting their income by Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 80,000 per annum and has created over 13,500 such entrepreneurs.
