A Special Report on India's Swachh Index
This year in August the Ministry of Urban Development, as part of the National Swachh Mission released cleanliness rankings for cities with a population of more than one lakh. 476 cities were graded on their performance on two major indicators: efforts to end open defecation and solid waste management practices. We travelled across the country to see what ratings on this survey actually mean on ground.
