Aatma Nirbhar Bharat: Key Theme Of PM's Independence Day Speech
The larger theme of the speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Independence Day today has been on the Aatma Nirbhar (self-reliant) Bharat programme that the centre has launched amid the coronavirus pandemic. PM Modi took the message forward and from the ramparts of the Red Fort reiterated the centre's commitment to making India a self-reliant nation, where most of the resources it needs are manufactured in the country. "For how long will we keep sending rat material to the world and keep importing finished goods?" PM Modi said today. The coronavirus crisis has proven to the world that if a nation chooses to be self-reliant, it can tide over any crisis.
