Access Life Assistance Foundation, a Mumbai-based NGO has been committed since 2014 to providing shelters to children battling cancer and their families. Most of those who travel from small cities and districts to metro cities like Mumbai, for treatment of their child's cancer end up abandoning treatment as they find it difficult to find a place to live in. Big cities are expensive and pose a challenge to low income families coming from out of town in terms of housing, transport etc. among other expenditures of the treatment itself. Access Life Assistance Foundation provides such families with not just shelter, but also food, transport, counselling, education and skill development to children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Founded by Girish Nair and Ankeet Dave, watch how they have been transforming helplessness into hopefulness in this edition of Inspire India.
