The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that Section 125 Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) applied to all married women including Muslim married women and they can claim maintenance from their husbands under these provisions. Speaking to ANI, on the verdict, Senior Advocate of Supreme Court Karuna Nundy said "There are a number of issues that have been clarified by the court. Sec. 125 of the CrPC, under which you can get maintenance against your husband, applies to Muslims, non-Muslims, and all married women. It also applies to all non-Muslim divorced women.
