Kunal Kamra Controversy | After Shiv Sena workers vandalised a popular stand-up comedy venue in Mumbai following a viral clip by comedian Kunal Kamra who is at the centre of a political firestorm after posting a satirical song on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, comedians say the current episode could lead to more censorship. The fear amongst several comedians is that the spaces that are available to perform could soon impose self-censorship to avoid controversy that leads to leads to legal cases and financial loss due to threats, intimidation, and vandalism. The Mumbai Police have rejected the stand-up artiste's request for a week's time to appear before the authorities.
