At least four deaths in Pune, subways flooded and train services hit in Mumbai - heavy rainfall has brought life to a standstill in various parts of India. The weather office has specifically issued a red alert for Maharashtra. Cities like Pune and Mumbai saw heavy rain and flooding, with four lives already lost on Thursday. In fact in Pune, three persons died of electrocution through water. Schools remained closed in the city. Social media was buzzing with visuals of waterlogged streets in Pune and Kolhapur. Do our cities need better administration, more mindful infrastructure, structures that are resilient to torrential rains and also extreme heat?
