In what's being seen as a humiliation for AIADMK chief O Panneerselvam (OPS) amid attempts by his deputy Edappadi Palanisami (EPS) to take control of the party, its General Council, the party's highest decision-making body, today rejected all the 23 draft resolutions OPS had moved. The development came after the Madras High Court restrained the party from deciding on single leadership. While EPS, who claims majority support, wants to become the General Secretary, OPS wants dual leadership to continue. The party has called for another general council meeting on July 11 to adopt resolutions for the changeover. NDTV's Sam Daniel speaks to D Jayakumar, a former minister from the EPS camp.
