The Air India strike is now into its 50th day and with 600 crores of revenue losses, there is still no sign of a breakthrough as both sides have refused to budge from their stand. The 440 pilots of the Indian Pilots Guild, which is now derecognised, have tried desperately to negotiate with the management but until they return to work, the management simply is not interested. In a last ditch attempt, the pilots have now decided to sit on a hunger strike indefinitely in both Delhi and Mumbai to get the government to listen to their needs and respond. Will the government relent?
