Airfare hike: Minister feels the pinch
In the past year, airfares have gone up eight times. And now it's beginning to hurt even the aviation minister. The high fares are keeping away budget travellers and low cost carriers are making losses. "The industry needs support. Almost every airline including national carrier are facing financial crunch," says Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel.
