Ajay Kumar Bhalla Sworn-In As 18th Governor Of Manipur
Manipur Governor-Designate Ajay Kumar Bhalla was sworn in as the 18th Governor of Manipur. Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur, D Krishna kumar administers the oath of office. Ajay Kumar Bhalla was appointed Governor of Manipur on December 24, 2024. He was the retired IAS officer of the 1984 batch from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Bhalla, originally from Jalandhar, Punjab, served as the Union Home Secretary from August 23, 2019, to August 22, 2024. During his tenure, he tackled several complex national challenges and played a pivotal role in addressing critical issues including the current crisis in the state.
