On The Buck Stops Here, the big debate - just ahead of the UP elections, an open split in the Samajwadi Party, the biggest rift so far between Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav. After Mulayam released the list of candidates who would contest the elections, there is every possibility now that his son will release an alternate list with 167 candidates. In fact, informally, this list has already started doing the rounds. Several Akhilesh supporters who have been denied a ticket are saying they will contest the elections with or without the official sanction of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav. So is this the end of the Samajwadi Party as we know it? Is there a possibility still of some sort of last second patch-up? And what does this mean for the BJP, BSP and the Congress?
