Akola: Loan waiver fails to reach farmer
The UPA government's decision to write off farm loans has had little impact on the ground in Vidarbha. Many farmers are not getting fresh loans, as banks have still not received directions from the Centre that previous loans need to be waived. The Finance Minister has announced that guidelines will be issued to all banks by the end of May and this will certainly be music to the ears of farmers in Vidarbha.
