Anti-Modi opposition seems to be doing poorly when it comes to optics. After the possibility of alliance between the AAP and Congress collapsed in Delhi, the Congress-Left alliance seems to be falling through. The Congress has 22 allies this time, double the number of allies it had in 2014. The BJP, which had 17 allies in 2014, has 16 allies this time. The Congress, however, has not formally announced its deal in some states, raising the question if Congress is really ahead in its game of alliance.
