Addressing an election rally in Punjab's Majitha, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi took on both the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP alliance led by the Badal family and the Aam Aadmi Party or AAP, saying that his party was not making hollow promises like them. Promising strong action against drug trafficking and a fresh wave of industrialisation, he said the party's chief in the state Captain Amarinder Singh will be its chief ministerial candidate. "Amarinder Singh has given his blood and sweat for Punjab. He has worked day and night for the betterment of Punjab. He has always worked for Punjabis, for Sardars. He is going to be our chief minister," Mr Gandhi said.
