On The Buck Stops Here, Union Power & Coal Minister Piyush Goyal slammed P Chidambaram's critique of coal auctions saying he was "amazed at former finance minister's ignorance". "The same mines were given free of charge by UPA government under Finance Minister Chidambaram... then (he) came up with a fancy theory that there is no loss because coal is in the womb of Mother Earth," he said. Accusing Rahul Gandhi of playing "downright low-grade divisive politics", Mr Goyal said that the Congress Vice President in Mhow had "shown his ignorance that it is his family, his government and his party which is the hand behind the failed social welfare programmes for the community that Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar wanted to have the upliftment of." He said he was "surprised " at Naina Lal Kidwai's statement that PM & government was not connecting enough with the Indian industry. "Different delegations from corporates in India have met him (PM)," Mr Goyal said, adding that Prime Minister is always open to good ideas.
