The US House of Representatives has approved a critical amendment in favour of India by an overwhelming majority to waive sanctions when buying military hardware from Russian. The amendment, which was authored and moved by Indian-origin US Congressman Ro Khanna, gives India a special waiver to counter US sanctions, which are imposed on any country that buys defence equipment from Russia. The author of the amendment speaks exclusively to NDTV on how it can help India in dealing with China.
