The restricted inter-state movement and low demand have hit vegetable growers in Punjab, who are forced to either sell their surplus produce for a loss or discard them on the road. Farmers in Mansa were seen throwing capsicum on the road as they are not getting adequate price from buyers, they said. The coronavirus lockdown has also affected the movement of buyers. Capsicum is grown on 1,350 hectares and Mansa, Sangrur and Ferozepur are the main growing districts. Punjab and National Capital Region are the main markets.
