While the nation debates how many languages should be taught in school and which languages should be given priority. The DMK government has challenged the three-language push in the Centre's National Education Policy and accused it of imposing Hindi on the southern states. We speak to Avanti Nagra, a pop singer & content creator, on how the young generation views learning languages and what drives them to learn more languages. Avanti Nagral completed a dual degree at Harvard University and the Berklee College of Music and has recently created the Carnival of Culture where she sang 50 songs in 50 languages to showcase how language is an unifier for Gen Z.
