Union Home Minister Amit Shah today called for an end to protests in the Northeast against the Citizenship Amendment Bill, saying that appropriate exceptions have been made to ensure that its regional identity is protected. "All concerns have been addressed. We are protecting the social and linguistic uniqueness of the North East people. Nobody needs to fear it," Mr Shah said while introducing the legislation in the Lok Sabha today. "We have had enough. The protests have to end now."
