An Undercover Operation By Bachpan Bachao Andolan To Rescue Rubina

At an age when she should be dreaming of a bright future, Rubina was kidnapped and sold by a trafficker. The trafficker, Puja didi, drugged Rubina in Bihar and sold her to a man in Haryana for marriage for 2,200 dollars. She was raped every day until one day she found the opportunity to call her parents for help. Acting on the complaint, Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) founded by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi swung into action and conducted an undercover operation along with the police to find the whereabouts of the girl. The location of the phone number used by the girl to call her parents was also traced, and a raid was conducted at the wee hours. With BBA's tireless efforts Rubina was rescued on 22nd May.
