NDTV's Ravish Kumar, who won the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award 2019, delivered a speech on "The power of citizen's journalism to advance democracy", in the Philippines. He also took questions from the press. "Threat is the new normal and the mainstream media has cut down its entire network of news gathering resources... Oppositions will be wiped out from the minds of people in two years I can predict," Ravish Kumar said during a discussion with other journalists. "Anchors have become delivery boys of propaganda.
