Andhra Issues Multi-Crore Tenders For Polavaram Against Centre's Advice | Read
In an apparent violation of orders from the centre, the Andhra Pradesh government has issued notifications for new tenders for projects worth Rs. 4,900 crore. The notifications come after the centre advised against re-tendering over concerns of increased costs. The new tenders have been issued for two projects linked to the Polavaram irrigation scheme - a hydel project worth Rs. 3,100 crore and headworks worth Rs. 1,800 crore.
