Andhra Pradesh: Bumper harvest, but farmers still in crisis

Even after a bumper harvest of paddy, farmers across Andhra Pradesh are facing a dilemma. An estimated 120 lakh tonnes of paddy was harvested this rabi season, but hardly five lakh tonnes has reportedly been procured by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the state government. This leaves them at the mercy of traders.
