Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh today surpassed one lakh coronavirus cases each amid massive nationwide COVID-19 surge which has taken the national tally past the 14 lakh-mark. Both the states recorded a daily spike of over 5,000 cases. Karnataka, which had been praised weeks ago for containing the virus, on Monday reported its highest one-day tally of 5,324 cases, taking the total of those infected to 1,01,465. The state's capital, Bengaluru, reported 1,470 new cases in a day; its total stands at 46,943.
