The voting in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday saw violence that left a Telugu Desam Party worker dead. A candidate also destroyed an Electronic Voting Machine and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that hundreds of EVMs had failed. Andhra Pradesh voters had a double task as citizens - with voting for the 25 Lok Sabha and the 175 Assembly seats held together. Voters braved temperatures that crossed 40 degrees. Many voters travelled back to the state to cast their vote. Mr Naidu is hoping to be Chief Minister again and his main challenge is Jagan Mohan Reddy of the YSR Congress party.
