Anna effect boosts news viewership; govt worried
Facing severe criticism for mishandling the Anna Hazare fast, some sections of the Government have decided to shoot the messenger. At the cabinet meeting this week, while clearing ammendments to the Cable Regulation Act which proposes jail for those downlinking illegal channels, some ministers felt the time for regulation of broadcast media had come.
