Another Hunger Death Linked To Aadhaar: Government In Denial?
Has there been yet another death due to hunger in Jharkhand, the third in just a month? 62-year-old Rooplal Marandi, has died his family says due to hunger. According to his daughter, the local dealer refused to give ration for the last two months as his thumb impression was not matching with the one on the Aadhaar Card. But the local administration is saying it's a case of natural death, although now the authorities have ordered an inquiry.
