"This surprised us. We didn't think of this type of result. It seems that anti-incumbency wave was there in this election," said R Rohaningliana, MNF leader. The ruling MNF got only 10 seats this election, down from its tally of 26 in the 2018 assembly polls. The ZPM, which got registered as a political party only in 2019, won 27 of the 40 assembly constituencies in the state.
