Anti-sati law: Govt mulls changes
The proposed amendments to anti-sati law, treating the woman as a victim and holding the entire community accountable for the incident, is expected to come up for discussion in a Union Cabinet meeting on Thursday.Among the amendments approved by the Group of Ministers or GoM is that the woman, who attempts to commit sati, should be treated as a victim rather than as an offender who has tried to commit suicide.
