This week, as we marked the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, there has been a renewed interest in his life, legacy and a renewed political debate on who is appropriating him. When he was alive the RSS was deeply distrustful of Mahatma Gandhi and his efforts to unite Hindus and Muslims. The Congress, led by Sonia Gandhi, says they are the ones who kept the Mahatma alive and relevant.
