Are colleges good enough for the '100 percenters'?
A day after the news of Shri Ram College of Commerce's demand for a full score in order to get a seat into the Commerce stream came out, the QS Asian University rankings 2011 were also released. The Indian universities had not done well at all. Delhi University, which controls SRCC, has fallen 10 places to 77 and IIT-Kanpur - the only other institute to figure on it - has also fallen before its score. Meanwhile, our neighbour China has six varsities in the top 30. So, the question we're asking is - when students get in with that perfect score, are they getting a perfect education?
