Where on one hand corporate leaders like Azim Premji announce significant chunks of their personal fortunes transferred to charity, a survey, on the other, suggests that India lags far behind in the giving index as compared to our western counterparts. Experts, Dilip Cherian, consulting partner with Perfect Relations; Shoma Chaudhury, managing editor of Tehelka; TV Mohandas Pai, chairman of Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd; Mathew Cherian, CEO of HelpAge India, and D D Rathi, group executive president of Aditya Birla Group, discuss whether or not India Inc lacks the culture of giving.
